I have a love hate relationship with snow. We started off as good friends but adulthood made me face aspects I dread.
Driving on snow or ice.
Spending long exhausting minutes bundling up two little kids before going out.
Shoveling snow. Ok, this doesn’t happen too often as my husband is in change but once or twice per winter is enough to make me mark it down on my list.
Hmm, only three things?!…I thought there would be more. Oh, well!
The thing is that I don’t handle cold as I used to as a kid. This is also because I spent my childhood in Romania where winters are shorter and milder than Minnesotan winters. On the other hand, a winter with no snow makes me sad (I experienced one of thoese in Belgium) so I try not to complain too much about what we have here. Whenever my kiddos want to go outside, I take a deep breath and spend long exhausting minutes bundling them up so we can enjoy all this snow.
I wanted to gather a few good snow and ice activities that I can do with my young boys, something new and fun. I hope you will also enjoy them.
